State of the Club

Watch or Read…

Whether you have joined Anglers recently or have been with us for a number of years, you have hopefully caught that one of our priorities is making youth soccer accessible to any family.  Our Club strives to make both the financial and time commitments required from families realistic, and this endeavor has clearly struck a chord in the Pikes Peak region.  Within the first two years of our founding in 2021, Anglers had more than tripled its number of teams competing each fall and spring. As the size and scope of our programs has grown, so have our needs, namely our needs for staffing, coaching, reffing, and field space.

After consulting with various business and nonprofit experts, the founders of likeminded soccer organizations around the world, and coaches, parents, and donors here in our own community, we have synthesized a new pricing, discount, and financial aid model for fall and spring soccer that will help ensure the future of Anglers and is designed to scale to families of all backgrounds.

It starts with a simple base price that is the same across all teams at all ages but can be tiered to various needs via a financial aid request form.  We encourage all families for whom the base price is inaccessible to submit that form.  Using self-reported data such as household income and number of dependents, families requesting financial aid will be grouped into one of several tiers, making it possible to find a price that fits their unique circumstances.  These tiers have been based around the most recently available demographic and economic data for the Pikes Peak region and will be adjusted each year accordingly as that data shifts.

Regardless of whether or not a family decides to request financial aid, some additional discounts are also available.  Details for both a sibling discount and an annual billing discount are available on the Pricing page, as are the details regarding base price and financial aid tiers.  All pricing information is transparent, so you can do your own simple calculation using your household income and number of dependents to see the minimum tier your family would be placed should you submit a request for financial aid.

Ultimately, we have two goals with this new pricing strategy.  Number one: we endeavor to meet a variety of families in their current circumstances and find a way for their children to play with Anglers.  Number two: we need to build upon our financial foundation to ensure sustainability amidst the significant growth we experienced and future growth we intend to pursue.

We recognize that this change will affect families within Anglers differently depending on their various situations, but we strongly believe this step is necessary in order to allow us to more effectively identify fundraising needs, better equip our coaches and teams, and hire much needed additional staff.  As always, let us know what questions you have via the contact form on our website or via email.  We hope to see your child out at tryouts very soon as we shape growing kids into resilient adults through fun, rigorous sports programs!
