Statement of Faith
1
We believe in God, the Father, who created the universe.
2
We believe Jesus of Nazareth is the Messiah. He was fully human and fully God, born miraculously of a virgin by the power of the Holy Spirit. He was unfairly crucified, killed, and buried, but after three days, rose from the dead. He returned to Heaven and rules with God, the Father; he will come to Earth again to make all things right.
3
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who brings life to everything. He speaks to us, is present with us, and is worshiped with Jesus and the Father.
4
We believe in the importance of the global Church, the community of God’s people, to work towards making Earth more like Heaven.
5
We believe God offers redemption and restoration, through the atonement of Jesus, to all who confess, and turn away from, their sin. We look forward to when, we too, will be resurrected to rule a unified Heaven and Earth with Jesus.
6
We believe the Bible, as the inspired Word of God, speaks with authority concerning truth, ethics, and God’s ideal for human conduct.
7
We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct and equal genders, together, reflect the image and nature of God.
8
We believe all individuals are created in the image of God and, therefore, are worthy of love, respect, grace, and compassion. We will treat athletes, parents and guardians, coaches, opponents, and referees as such.
9
We believe coaches are role models both on and off the field. Anglers coaches bear responsibility for teaching athletes how to strive to win while playing fairly and observing the Laws of the Game and the highest levels of sportsmanship. In both victory and defeat, our behavior shall model dignity and composure.
