Player Outcomes
Tenacity
Tenacity is growing in perseverance and passion, especially when faced with difficult circumstances. It is fighting until the end, regardless of the score. Anglers players learn to exhibit tenacity on the field so they can call upon it when facing challenges off it.
Integrity
Integrity is maintaining character in public and in private. It is treating opponents, teammates, and referees with respect regardless of who will know what was said. Anglers players observe integrity modeled by their coaches so that they can practice it in their daily lives.
Growth Mindset
Growth mindset is believing anyone can improve at anything. It is viewing the inevitable losses and challenges of sport as opportunities to get better. Anglers players may not be capable of a particular skill today, but with deliberate practice, their skills can improve over time.
Anglers Football Club exists to inspire families in the joy of the game regardless of the level their children ultimately go on to play.
Program Philosophy
Empowering
We believe youth sports presents an opportunity for kids to have fun while being challenged through both victory and defeat. We foster enjoyable learning environments that emphasize the holistic nature of being an athlete.
Accessible
We believe valuable youth sports opportunities should be available to any family. We offer a variety of programs and provide robust financial aid, allowing a greater number of players to get in the game.
The Executive Director and Board Members of Anglers Football Club are Christians. The teachings of Jesus of Nazareth influence everything we do, including our leadership of the Club. With that said, the express mission of Anglers Football Club, as an organization, is not to proselytize. Rather, it is to inspire families in the joy of the game regardless of the level their children ultimately go on to play. We note that Jesus’s command to his followers to share his love and his story (Matthew 28:18-20) was given to people, not organizations. So while Anglers itself is not designed in such a way as to have a “Christian” curriculum for each fall and spring season, families and coaches can expect our leadership, including many coaches, to be forward about their own Christian faith. In addition, some programs we offer, such as summer camps and mission trips, are designed with Christian discipleship in mind.
Anglers does not exclusively hire Christian coaches, but all coaches in the Club are required to acknowledge our Statement of Faith, accepting some practical leadership applications expressed therein. They also acknowledge that other coaches, staff members, and chaplains in Anglers are free and encouraged to share their own biblical worldview with players and their families. When signing the waiver, parents acknowledge that any child participating in an Anglers program may be exposed to biblical views and values expressed in the Statement of Faith, among others.
